For HR and L&D leaders

Run your program yourself, with us, or let us run it for you

There are three ways to bring Everything DiSC® and The Five Behaviors® into your organization, and you can move from one to another as your team gains experience.

  1. 1You run it. Someone on your staff leads the sessions.
  2. 2We run it with you. We co-facilitate until your own facilitator is ready.
  3. 3We run it for you. Our facilitators lead every session.

How we work with you

Three ways to run your program

1

You run it

Your organization has its own administrator account, which is where you send the assessments from. Your organization also holds the credits you use to pay for each assessment. Someone on your staff runs the sessions, using either the official facilitation materials or what they learned in certification. When a question comes up, you can book a call with us.

2

We run it with you

We lead the first sessions alongside the person on your staff who will run the program later. Once that person is ready to lead on their own, we step back and you run the program yourself. We'll put together a custom quote after a call about what you need.

3

We run it for you

A Symphony 100 facilitator leads each session live and online, and the price includes each participant's profile. Your people complete their assessments before the first session, so the whole session is spent discussing what the profiles show.

What HR and L&D leaders tell us

Six situations we hear about

How we'd help you set up the program depends on which of these you're dealing with.

The senior team wants to see results

Senior leaders keep paying for a program when they can see what changed, such as who stayed, how quickly new managers settled into the job, and how teams handled disagreements. Before your first cohort starts, decide which results you'll report to them, for example turnover and engagement.

New people arrive every month

You hire all year long. With your own administrator account, you can send each new hire the assessment in their first few weeks, so they're using the same Everything DiSC® language as their team from the start.

Managers stop using what they learned

Three months after the workshop, the managers who still use the model are usually the ones who already worked well with their teams. Everything DiSC® Worksmart gives the other managers short modules built on the profile they already have. Each module covers one situation, such as giving feedback or working through a conflict.

Several leaders want something different

When one VP asks for a management development program and another wants a team session, HR looks bad if it picks one and ignores the other. Bring the senior team together to agree on what comes first. Both programs use the same model, so the second one builds on what people learned in the first.

When people leave or a new executive arrives

Facilitators move on, and a new executive often arrives with a favorite tool of their own. If your organization owns the account and a second person knows how the program runs, the program keeps going and nobody has to start over.

Budget gets approved a piece at a time

One balance of credits covers Everything DiSC® and The Five Behaviors®, so the same budget can pay for a manager cohort in spring and a team session in the fall. You can pay for the year all at once or month by month.

Before you schedule anythingGet the senior team to agree on why you're running the program and what they want people to do differently because of it. At the same time, agree on who can see each person's results and which reports you'll use, and make it clear that results are for development and will never be used to evaluate performance.

What the research shows

When managers have time to develop their people, 84% of employees say they're very likely to stay. When managers don't, the figure drops to 41%.

When their manager doesn't have time41%

When their manager is available76%

Wiley advises employers to protect manager time and to treat managers' availability as a retention metric, “not a culture nicety.” Running Everything DiSC® in-house gives managers something specific to do with the time they set aside for their people. A manager can sit down with each team member, talk about how that person likes to work, and go through short Everything DiSC® Worksmart modules together.

Questions

What HR and L&D leaders ask us first

Can we start with you and take the program over later?

Yes. You can start with our workshops, or with us co-facilitating, and move to running the program yourself when your facilitator is ready.

Does the person running the sessions need to be certified?

No. Someone on your staff can facilitate with the official facilitation materials, and the Facilitator Starter is built for that. If you plan to run the program for years, certification is still worth it. Your facilitator learns the model properly and practices with peers.

Who should hold the administrator account?

Usually the person who'll send the assessments and pull the reports, often an HR coordinator or the program owner. One person can hold both the administrator and facilitator roles, and larger organizations often split them between two people.

Can one balance cover Everything DiSC® and The Five Behaviors®?

Yes. Each assessment uses its listed number of credits when you send it.

What happens if someone leaves before taking the assessment?

Recall the invitation, and the credits return to your balance for the next person.

Who will see each person's results?

You decide that before the rollout, including whether colleagues see each other's profiles, whether teams get compared, and whether reports name people or only show patterns. We'll help you set those ground rules with the senior team.

Can we use the results for hiring or promotion decisions?

No. Everything DiSC® and The Five Behaviors® are built for development. They help the people already on your staff work better together, and they aren't designed to evaluate performance or screen job candidates.

Not sure where to start?

Book a call. We'll talk about your organization, when you want to start and what you can spend, and then tell you which of the three ways we'd recommend.
