Three sentences leaders say when a team is working hard and going nowhere.
“We don't agree on our goals.”
“Our team lacks clear communication.”
“We can't seem to turn plans into results.”

Two parts: the Work of Leaders® profile, and the live workshop built on it
Everything DiSC Work of Leaders® connects each leader's style to the real demands of leading. The model is simple: leaders craft a Vision, build Alignment and champion Execution. Wiley built the model on best practices from 300 experts in more than 150 organizations, the work of prominent scholars, and over four years of additional research and development. Each leader receives a personal 23-page profile with detailed feedback on all three steps.
The Workshop Package takes your leaders through the profile in five live, online sessions for your own cohort of up to 10. The first session sets the foundation, the next three sessions work through Vision, Alignment and Execution, and the last session turns the insights into an action plan. The profiles, both team reports and the follow-up tools are all included in the price.
Leaders make sure the conditions are present for the imagined future to become a reality.

DiSC® AND THE PRIORITIES MAP
Each leader starts with a DiSC® style, then goes deep into the work of leading
Every Work of Leaders® profile opens with the leader's own Everything DiSC® map: a dot that shows the leader's DiSC® style, and shading that shows the leader's priorities. The eight priorities around the Work of Leaders® map are the primary areas where leaders focus their energy. Every leader has at least three priorities, and some leaders have four or five.
The DiSC® section of the Work of Leaders® profile is solid and shorter than the DiSC® section in some other Everything DiSC® profiles. The Work of Leaders® profile spends most of its pages on how the leader's style plays out in Vision, Alignment and Execution.
D, Dominance: being commanding, being pioneering, being resolute
i, Influence: being energizing, being pioneering, being affirming
S, Steadiness: being inclusive, being humble, being affirming
C, Conscientiousness: being deliberate, being humble, being resolute
The Everything DiSC Work of Leaders® map. Each leader's profile shows a personal map with the leader's own dot and shading.
One continuum, two tasks
For each of the nine drivers, the Work of Leaders® profile shows the leader on two behavioral continua. Try the example below: see where two leaders naturally sit, choose a task, then drag each leader to the best practice for the task.
Neither end of a continuum is the "good" end in general. Remaining open is the best practice when a leader crafts a Vision. When the same leader has to execute, the opposite behavior is required: the leader closes the options and provides a plan. One end almost always comes more easily and more naturally to a given leader.

Illustrative example. Each leader's position on each continuum comes from the leader's own Work of Leaders® assessment, and a DiSC® style does not fix a leader's position.
THE RESEARCH AND THE BOOK
Built by the people who brought Everything DiSC® to life
Work of Leaders® comes from the same Wiley team that developed Everything DiSC®. The team began by analyzing and distilling the work of leadership researchers from the last three decades. With the help of 300 subject matter experts from more than 150 organizations, the team identified a specific set of leadership best practices. The development effort took four years.
3decades of leadership research analyzed
300subject matter experts
150+organizations
4years of development
The same research is the basis of the book The Work of Leaders: How Vision, Alignment, and Execution Will Change the Way You Lead, by Julie Straw, Mark Scullard, Susie Kukkonen and Barry Davis (Wiley, 2013). The workshop takes the model from the book and applies the model to each leader's own profile and to your team's real work.
“From my perspective, Work of Leaders® is the most practical, valuable and ready-to-use leadership content available. The model is elegant in its sophistication, and a leader does not need to be an industrial psychologist to fully understand the model and put it to work.”FRANK NOVEMBER, FOUNDER & CEO, SYMPHONY 100
WHY ORGANIZATIONS BOOK THE WORKSHOP
Bold ideas stall when leaders are not aligned
Imagine you lead a company with a strong strategy on paper. Your leadership team agreed the plan in January. By April, two leaders are pulling in different directions, a third is waiting for clearer instructions, and the people who report to them are unsure which priority comes first.
When leaders struggle to turn bold ideas into plans people can act on, teams feel adrift. Misalignment creates confusion, lowers morale and stalls progress. Over time, the lack of clarity erodes trust, weakens engagement and leads to higher turnover.
Photo: Everything DiSC®. The colored arc around each person marks the DiSC® style of the person.
A direction people can see
Leaders define and communicate a Vision that motivates the people who have to deliver it.
Buy-in before the work starts
Leaders build trust and commitment, so alignment and understanding replace confusion and conflict.
Plans that turn into results
Leaders champion Execution with clarity and structure, so strategy becomes meaningful results.
One shared language of leadership
The whole leadership team uses the same model and the same words, which makes the next hard conversation shorter.
PURPOSE AND KEY OBJECTIVES
What the workshop is for
Organizations book this workshop for a business reason: a leadership team that is not aligned costs money. Strategy stays on paper, teams work on competing priorities, and capable people leave because they cannot see where the organization is going.
The purpose of the Workshop Package is to help your leaders close the gap between the plan and the results, so more of the organization's time and energy goes into the outcomes it is measured on: growth, productivity, retention and, in the end, profitability.
To get there, by the end of the five sessions participants will:
1
Understand how they lead
Each leader understands their own leadership style and how their tendencies help or hinder them in specific leadership situations.
2
Craft a Vision
Leaders practice exploration, boldness and testing assumptions to set a clear and motivating direction.
3
Build Alignment
Leaders use clarity, dialogue and inspiration to win understanding and buy-in from the people who do the work.
4
Champion Execution
Leaders create momentum, structure and feedback, and leave with a personal action plan.
Your objectives may differ. Symphony 100 discusses these objectives with you up front. If your leadership team has different priorities, the objectives and the emphasis of the sessions are adjusted to match. Results vary with each team's culture, participation and follow-through: results disclaimer.
THE APPROACH
A complete leadership journey, not a quick fix
The five sessions are one designed journey. Each session builds on the session before it and works step by step through Vision, Alignment and Execution, so leaders gain the knowledge and also practice the skills that make a change last.
Discovering leadership styles
The journey begins with each leader's own style, seen through the Everything DiSC® model. Leaders uncover their natural tendencies, strengths and blind spots, and gain the self-awareness that leading other people requires.
Interactive and engaging learning
Leaders take part in exercises, team discussions and reflection activities. The sessions are active and high-energy: leaders practice each principle as they learn it, and the team builds a shared language.
Continuity and growth beyond the sessions
Each leader keeps a personal profile and a MyEverythingDiSC® account, so leaders can revisit and refine their leadership practices as new challenges arise.
WHY A WORKSHOP
Why not just read the profiles on your own?
Imagine every leader on your team has read their 23-page profile. Each leader now knows whether they lean toward bold ideas or careful testing, toward speaking up or listening. Monday's leadership meeting still runs exactly as before, because nobody has compared notes on how the team as a whole crafts a Vision, builds Alignment and champions Execution.
The team sees itself. The group report shows the leadership team's combined approach to Vision, Alignment and Execution, and the group's overall strengths and challenges.
Practice as well as insight. Each session combines the model, practice and group discussion on the team's real leadership challenges.
An experienced facilitator in the room. A practitioner who has focused on Work of Leaders® keeps each exercise tied to the decisions your leaders face.
Follow-through after the sessions. Each leader leaves with an action plan, and the follow-up tools keep the learning part of everyday work.
WHO FACILITATES
Facilitated by practitioners who have focused on Work of Leaders®
The Work of Leaders® Workshop Package is facilitated by Frank November, Founder & CEO of Symphony 100, and by other highly experienced Everything DiSC® practitioners who have focused on Everything DiSC Work of Leaders®. Each facilitator knows the Vision, Alignment and Execution model in depth and has worked with leaders and leadership teams. From time to time, a producer assists the facilitator to keep the delivery smooth and professional.
Not only for the C-suite: every team that has to lead
Work of Leaders® treats leadership as work that people do: crafting a Vision, building Alignment and championing Execution. Any leader and any team that has to set a direction and deliver on the direction can use the model, at any level of the organization.
Intact teamsStrengthen relationships, improve communication and align around shared goals.
New teamsEstablish trust, define roles and create a shared vision from the start.
Leadership teamsGive the people who set direction one model for inspiring, aligning and executing.
Stuck teamsWork through disagreement on goals, unclear communication, or plans that do not turn into results.
Individual leadersDevelop each leader's own skills in the context of the team they lead.
How different teams use the workshop
An executive team
Imagine you are a CEO whose executives each describe the strategy differently. The team uses the Vision and Alignment sessions to agree on one direction and one way of explaining the direction.
Department and middle managers
Imagine you manage managers. Your managers receive the direction from above and have to win buy-in below. The Alignment session gives your managers practice in explaining the rationale and inviting questions.
First-time and emerging leaders
Imagine you were promoted for your technical work. The profile shows you which parts of leading come naturally to you and which parts need deliberate effort.
A project or launch team
Imagine you lead a team formed for one product launch. The team will work together for nine months, so the team needs a shared Vision and a plan quickly.
A task force or committee
Imagine you chair a cross-functional group with one mandate. The members do not report to you, so Alignment through clarity and dialogue is your main tool.
A founding team or a nonprofit board
Imagine you and your co-founders, or you and your board, agree on the mission and disagree on the next step. The model separates the Vision question from the Execution question.
Teams built for a specific purpose. Work of Leaders® is useful even for teams that have come together for one purpose and will not stay together for the long run. A team that will stay together and wants to develop as a team may be better served by The Five Behaviors® team development.

THE PLATFORM
After the sessions: MyEverythingDiSC®
Everything DiSC Work of Leaders® runs on MyEverythingDiSC®, the interactive learning portal that is exclusive to the Everything DiSC® product suite. Work of Leaders® is not on the Catalyst™ platform. A MyEverythingDiSC® account is included for each participant in the Workshop Package, and each participant keeps the account after the five sessions end.

Each leader opens the leader's own profile at any time, on a computer, a tablet or a phone, and explores the DiSC® map and the research behind Everything DiSC®.
Compare styles with a colleague
Two leaders compare their DiSC® styles, explore the similarities and the differences, and read communication tips for working together.
See the group on one map
Leaders see where the members of a group sit on the DiSC® map, which keeps the shared language in use after the workshop.
HOW IT WORKS
From order to action plan in four steps
1
Order, then a logistics call
Order the package for your cohort. The first step after your order is a call with Symphony 100 to go through the logistics: who is taking part, how the assessments go out, and what your leadership team wants from the workshop.
2
Everyone completes the assessment
Every participant completes the Everything DiSC Work of Leaders® assessment. Symphony 100 confirms that all the assessments are in before the workshop is scheduled, so no session time is spent on filling in the assessment.
3
Schedule the five sessions
Once the assessments are complete, Symphony 100 schedules the five live sessions with you.
4
Five live sessions, then keep going
The sessions move from the model, through Vision, Alignment and Execution, to an action plan. Each leader keeps a MyEverythingDiSC® account and the team keeps its group report.

Why we keep cohorts small
The best learning happens in engaging, interactive groups where every participant is seen, heard and involved. Each workshop is built around 10 participants, with the option of adding 2 more for a dozen. Twelve is the breaking point: beyond a dozen, the quality of the discussion drops.
More than 12 people, or something different?
